To start a wonderful year of giving back The Kent Companies has presented the Permian Basin Rehab Center (PBRC) with a check for an astounding $110,000! This generous donation marks the largest contribution we’ve ever made to PBRC, and we couldn’t be prouder.

At The Kent Companies, we believe in the power of community and the importance of giving back to those who support us. That’s why we’re dedicated to supporting local organizations like PBRC, which play vital roles in improving the lives of individuals and families in our area.

The $110,000 donation was made possible through the incredible generosity of our guests who participated in our change roundup program at local Kent Kwik locations. Over the first three months of the year, guests had the opportunity to round up their change with each purchase, and their small contributions added up to make a huge impact.

It’s moments like these that remind us of the strength of our community and the difference we can make when we come together for a common cause. PBRC’s annual telethon on Saturday, April 27th, served as the perfect occasion to present this check and celebrate the incredible work being done by PBRC.

PBRC plays a vital role in providing essential services and support to individuals with disabilities and special needs, as well as their families. From physical therapy to speech therapy and beyond, PBRC’s comprehensive programs make a meaningful difference in the lives of countless individuals each year.

The Kent Companies Expand to Alabama with a Thirteen-Store Acquisition

MIDLAND, TEXAS, January 17, 2024 –The Kent Companies, a Texas based family- owned and operated business established in 1957, proudly announces the successful acquisition of DC Oil Company based in Birmingham, AL. The strategic move bolsters The Kent Companies’ position in the southeast region and marks its 8th operating state.
The acquisition includes 13 Chevron Texaco-branded convenience stores, a fuel transportation fleet, and a portfolio of dealer accounts. This transaction not only enhances The Kent Companies’ footprint across Texas and the southeast but also reaffirms its commitment to growing the Kent Kwik brand while providing quality service and products to our loyal guests.

In alignment with its vision for growth and Guest-centric focus, The Kent Companies are proud to retain the Chevron Texaco branding for fuel while embarking on an exciting rebranding of the stores to Kent Kwik. The company plans to expand with new stores in Alabama and the other southeast states it operates in today.

Bill Kent, the owner of The Kent Companies, expressed enthusiasm about the acquisition and the rebranding strategy, stating, “We are thrilled to welcome DC Oil Company into The Kent family. Our plan to maintain Chevron Texaco fuel ensures a seamless transition for our Guests while the rebranding to Kent Kwik represents our commitment to delivering exceptional quality and convenience. David Collins has a great team and as a long-time friend, I’m honored David would choose us to continue his legacy. Besides the quality of David’s stores, team members and operation, we are really excited to expand our relationship with Chevron in Alabama and throughout the southeast.”

With the transaction, The Kent Companies’ total store count now stands at 104 locations. The company also supplies fuel to an additional 150 plus dealer sites across 6 states.

My biggest concern when choosing a buyer was my employees. I am confident now that I made the right decision” said David Collins, the owner of DC Oil Company. “I got started in the petroleum business in 1990 as a cashier in a Texaco Convenience Store. I worked for Texaco for six years and then another six years for a Texaco Jobber. I started on my own with one store and then built two more over a five-year period. In 2008, I was able to purchase a small Jobbership as we grew our company. In my opinion, we were able to put together one of the best management teams in the industry. Any award, success or growth was a direct result of the hard work of my employees. Today, after 34 years, I have sold a company that I am very proud of. Best of luck to Bill Kent and his company!”
