The Kent Companies Announces New Manager Salary Increases

The Kent Companies are proud to announce that they have raised the base salary for Kent Kwik Convenience Stores managers company-wide. Store managers in the Midland/Odessa area have now been raised to $65,000 base salary per year. Managers have the ability to make over $100,000 after bonuses. The company takes pride in rewarding our Team Members, including giving the manager of the store of the year award a trip to Hawaii.

“We believe in supporting the Team Members that support us every day.” -Bill Kent, CEO

Currently, the company has 27 Kent Kwik locations in the Midland/Odessa area and 45 throughout Texas, New Mexico and Oklahoma. In addition to the pay increase for all managers, the company is offering a $6,000 signing bonus to managers and a $3,000 signing bonus to entry-level Team Members. The idea behind the signing bonus was to help make Team Members lives a little easier during the transition into a new career.

“Our company slogan is “Making Your Life Easy” and it is really our culture to find ways to make not only our guest’s lives easier but also our Team Members. Our goal is making their lives better and easier while also providing a fun, family atmosphere for them to work in every day.”-Meredith Bright, Director of Corporate Communications

A few months ago, the company also raised the base salary of Avis Lube Fast Oil Change Centers managers to $75,000 in Midland/Odessa.

“Thinking back over the years, it’s amazing we’ve grown to this point and have the leadership and talent we are blessed to have. In a way, it seems like yesterday when we had just a few stores, a few quick lube centers, no restaurants, no food service, no Mr. Payroll’s, no ATMs, no transportation trucks, no distribution center, and certainly no departments like we have today. Back then, we had maybe 50-60 employees. Today, we don’t have employees, we have Team Members….and our Team has grown to over 1,000 positions. I’m so proud.”-Bill Kent

Kent Kwik Stores Collecting Donations for PBRC Helping Hands

Now through February 11, 2019, Kent Kwik Stores will be collecting donations for the Permian Basin Rehab Center’s Helping Hands campaign. During the campaign, guests can donate anywhere from $1 to $100 and write their name or the name of a loved one on a hand to be placed inside the participating store.

” Since 1953, the Permian Basin Rehab Center (PBRC) has served thousands of patients of all ages and abilities who find themselves in need. The PBRC is the Permian Basin’s only comprehensive, non-profit, multidisciplinary rehabilitation facility that provides speech, physical, occupational therapy and hearing/audiology services. The therapists of the PBRC reach a broad cross-section of the community and bring positive change into the lives of countless individuals.”

The Kent Companies and Kent Kwik Convenience Stores are proud to support the PBRC and all of the services they provide to people across the Permian Basin. We want to support the people that support us. Our priority when raising money is making sure it goes to an organization that will use it locally. PBRC does that and it warms our hearts to see the people in our community benefiting from the generosity of our guests.

Bean to Cup Machines Added to 3 Kent Kwik Locations

Schaerer Bean to Cup coffee machines have been added to three Kent Kwik stores. Guests can find them at Kent Kwik 273, 240 TX-302, Kermit, TX 79745; Kent Kwik 316,  4400 W Illinois Ave, Midland, TX 79703; and Kent Kwik 320, 6101 Andrews Hwy Midland, TX 79706.

Each store has three machines with a house blend, dark blend, Texas Pecan blend and decaf blend. The Bean to Cup machines prompt the guest, on a touchscreen, to first choose whether they want hot or iced coffee, then they pick their size and blend. Once all the selections have been made, the machine fresh grides the beans and brews the cup of coffee right there, on the spot. This ensures guests will receive the freshest cup of coffee. A total game changer to convenience store coffee, guest can now receive coffee shop quality coffee without the price or wait time.

As we see how these machines perform in our three test stores, we hope to expand them to more locations. Keep an eye out for these machines at a Kent Kwik near you.

Kent Kwik Team Members Volunteer at Hunt for Heroes

Every year Kent Kwik Team Members, and Team Members from all across The Kent Companies, volunteer at the annual Hunt for Heroes banquet in Midland, TX. This banquet is put on by Show of Support, “a 501C3 non profit organization honoring America’s wounded veterans. Our generous donors allow us to thank these heroes with our annual Hunt for Heroes banquet and supply them and their wives with a week of West Texas hospitality and outdoor hunting adventures.”

Like many companies, we are fortunate to have hard-working veterans on our staff. We love supporting veteran organizations and this event specifically is one our team gets excited for every year.
